Bad Run or just plain Bad Luck

Ever been beat up? If you have then you know how I feel. The past week has just been brutal on me, live and online. I sarted playing online again and it started out well but went downhill from there, I'll get to that in a minute. Yea I know I said I wasn't playing online anymore, but I am a glutton for punishment.

So I started out the week at Steve's 200+20 tourney which had a great structure, a great turnout (30 people), and was an all aroud great tournament. I started out well but had Pdogg at my table and honestly didn't want to tangle to much with him. As luck would have it almost every time I got in a hand who was in it with me? Yup Pdogg. Well my hands weren't getting there and my head wasn't in the game so I ended up out in round 2.

Then Tues. night I decide to head up to Robs 1/2 NL game after we took the kids trick or treating. I started out ok there but then got stacked and rebought. The very next hand I lay down the best hand to a raise and reraise when I flopped the bottom end of a straight. Guess I gave to much credit to the players here. After that lay down I was sick and it was all down hill from there.

On to Friday night where I played E's 5/10 limit HOE with a half kill to make it a 7.50/15. Its the pink chip game played with all pink chips which have a value of 2.50 each. For those that havent played it I urge you to give it a try. Its so much fun because everyone looses all concept of how much they are playing with due to the fact of betting in incriments of chips, 2 chips raise to 4 chips, not dollar amounts. Such a sick game. They decided to throw in pineapple in place of hold-em its fun I guess. Needless to say I got brutalized. It started early when I flopped a straight and Katie rivered a boat in Pineapple. Then I got beat by Quads, not once but twice, once in omaha H/L when I made Aces full and once in pineapple when the dealer stuck it in me! WTF??????? Who gets beat by quads twice within two hours. Thanks Trav! Anyway not long after that I was done and sickened so I decided to call it quits, for how long I dont know.

Online hasn't been any better, I was off to a good start and then within two days I was back down to where I started. Its not like I was playing badly, I was playing fairly well. I just had a few hands where I got my money in with he best hand and my opponet would catch a good river, or turn, or both in more then one occasion to beat me. Online play is so bad in most cases its hard not to make money online, you just have to avoid the bad beats. Unfourtunately for me I walk right into them.

I guess its just bad luck who knows. One thing I do know is that weds night will be the last time you see me at the regular poker games for awhile. Not sure how long possibly untill the new year. I need to build up a real bankroll that will allow me to play at differant limits. When I am confident I have enough to start playing again I'll be back. Untill then I'll keep this blog updated with random non-sense. Ricky Bobby out!

I thought I was taking a break

I decided to play in the Md-poker online League last night over at Absolute Poker, what a mistake. I should of stuck to my plans of taking a break, it was horrible I dont even know why I played. I used to play in the online league all the time but just gave up on on-line poker all together. Just recently I started playing online again but nothing to serious.

Well last night in the tourney I'm just hanging around waiting for some cards, slowly bleeding my chips away because I cant seem to hit on anything. I'm in MP and pick up JJ, blinds are 30/60 and I have around 1130 chips in front of me. I raise it up, 300 to go. I get one caller a fairly loose player and the the flop comes 3c 5s 2h, not to shabby. I'm first to act and only have about 830 left so I make about 540 to go, which leaves me about 300ish behind. This guy repops it all in, no way he it that flop unless he hit a set and I seriously doubt that. OK well he's just a donkey, I guess he thinks thats gonna scare me and I'll fold, I got 3/4 of my chips in the pot already I insta-call. He turns up AQ! What a gut shot with 2 overs OMFG! I'm way ahead cool. Turn rolls off 7s sweet even further ahead. River 4h WHAT! Freakin retarded. Never fails I get it in with the best of it and always loose!

I guess its back to being on break, untill Thursday. I have to bring Steve his new custom table I am building him, and I'll prolly donate a couple hundo back into the game to break the table in. Yes I decided to venture into building poker tables, I can build just about anything in the construction area so figured I'd give poker tables a shot. So far so good, I'll post more on this later and get some pics up.

The Joys of Poker

What did you just say? The JOYS of poker yea ok! Poker is a stupid game and I quit!

No but seriously, poker is a game that will test you like no other job if you are playing on a somewhat serious level. I guess you could kinda of compare it to a professional sport. Because you get in slumps sometimes and you have to turn your brain back on to play right. When I say that I mean you have to take a step back and ask yourself, what am I doing wrong and where are my flaws? Most of the time you can pin point them, turn you game around, and get back on track. But I really dont think anything could prepare you for the swings in your money when you are first starting out.

I compare poker to competive sports I guess because I played hockey at a fairly competitive level for quite awhile growing up and loved it with a passion. Poker is a competitive game but not too many people think of it as a sport, but believe it or not they have quite a bit in common. I guess its the competitiveness of the game along with some other traits that makes them similar. I really try to utilize a lot of the stuff I learned playing hockey and transfer it to my poker game. So far its proved to work pretty good, especially when it comes time to improve your game.

I played hockey for about 12 years and was at a point where when I played the game no matter what situation I was in I could make a split decision to do something and it would be the right decision 90% of the time. I find myself having to have to make the same split decisions in poker, but I have only been playing poker seriously for about 3 years or so. You just cant make those split decisions correctly 90% of the time with 3 years of experience like you can with 12 years experience. And in poker there are alot more varibles then in any sport.

I have learned quite a bit since I started playing more seriously over the past 6 months or so. I've learned more in 6 months playing live then I did in the past 2 years playing online and the occasional home game. Six months ago I decided to take my game to the next level and I did. Did I do well you ask? I guess thats all on how you look at it. I made some money, lost some money, paid the bills and had fun. But most of all I improved my game and I think thats the biggest profit of all. I'm looking to do this poker thing for awhile which means I'll never stop learning the game and I'll always be looking to take it to the next level.

I guess the whole reason for this post was because I found myself in somewhat of a slump, if you want to call it that. But a slump isn't really a slump, its not playing the way you know how and not preventing things that could be prevented. Just as in any competitive sport you play when you are not winning theres a reason. Its not bad luck, its not because everyone ones better then you, its not because the game is rigged.....lol, its because you are not staying on top of your game. Which I have not been doing lately. I went on a nice little winning streak for about a month and got real sloppy the past couple weeks. So its time to take a short break analyze my mistakes and step my game up a bit.

It looks like I've only been updating the good old blog about once a month or so. I've been slacking on my blogging duities. So I've made some improvements to the ol' blog and I'm going to stay on top of this thing for you faithful readers, all 2-3 of you. I cant loose the 2 or 3 people that read this thing that would just be gay!

What was I thinking

Well I haven't posted in awhile, mainly because I havent been playing that much. About a week ago I played at E's and made a nice little profit. Then Wed it was off to the Donkey Coral where I did pretty decent.

Well I have been playing really well lately and have been wanting to go up to AC and play in the USPC at the Taj. So I decided to jump in the $500+$50 event on Sat. Well I get up there around 10 am and get registered then I wander around for awhlie. I was a little nervous because I've never really played this big of a tournament before and I let that become more of an issue then I should have.

So I get to my table around 11:00 just in time to catch my first hand. I sit down at my table and there are still a few empty seats I see a few hands and am playing fairly tight. A few minutes later this asian guy sits down and I am thinking I know him from somewhere, oh I do know him, from TV hes a pro, great. I think it was Truan Le not sure though he had a legends of poker jacket on from the The Bicycle casino in CA. So anyway I look around and whos at the table next to me? Men "the master" and then I see his whole crew is there with there little Men the master jackets and hats on, wow that was pretty neat. That didnt bother me to much I was still playing half way decent. Then I got in a few hands I shouldn't have been in and was down to about 1500 in chips out of 5000 I started with Pushed all in with A5 suited on this kid who was playing a little loose and had raised, he called with KJ and my Ace held and I doubled. I caught about 4 great hands after that and ran my stack up to about 6500 and chilled out, back to tight mode.

Well into the second round I just wasn't feeling comfortable at all and I couldn't get in that tournament mode plus I was feeling tired because I didnt get enough rest the night before. I look up at the tournament screen and I see the payouts listed and first place pays 60K, the top 5 win over 10K and the top 38 people get paid. That really did something to me mentally I dont know what he hell happened after that. I just started playing really bad. I played so horrible throughout the next hour and half I didnt even make it to the first break. I just got so off my game thinking about making it to the money. I got shortstacked down to like 1700 and should of just sat back and waited or got up and took a walk, it was only like 10 mins till the first break. But no I get 99 on the button with 4 limpers and decide to stick my stack in. The kid in the BB calls with JJ flop comes J 10 8 and I have a draw but the turn brings another 8 and I'm finished.

I really am really pissed at myself because I have cashed in a few tourneys up there and I know I can play way better then that. So I came home early which was probably the best thing for me. I got a good nights sleep and know what mistakes I made so I think I'm ready to give it another shot. I think I may head back up later on today, get a room and play in mondays event.

2006 WSOP Final Table

I decided to order the pay per view broadcast of the 2006 wsop final table last night around 8pm. I didn't even know it was being carried by comcast because I had been looking for it but didn't see anything advertised, but then found it at the last minute last night. I wasn't sure what to expect or even if it would be worth it but figured what the hell. Its not like I was doing anything anyway other then wishing I was playing poker somewhere.

So I ordered the event around 8 pm, watched a solid 3 hrs and took a short nap till about 2am. When I got up there was still about 7 players left and the action was so so. The play got a little slow after it got down to 5 players and was a little boring, thank god Phil Gordon was announcing because he kept me laughing and some what interested. I mean the play was good but being a tournament player myself I just saw some big errors in the shorthanded play which could of had a drastic affect on the game. There were hardly any continuation bets, bets for value, or real good reads and these guys were playing so repetitive it was ridiculous. The last 3 guys weren't making any real good plays, reads, or picking up on some obvious tells that I noticed. But I can only imagine how nervous they were playing for that much money at the final table of the WSOP's main event. Anyway I kept watching all the way till it ended around 7am and the new world champ was crowned. And if you didn't already know, it was Jaime Gold who took down the last hand with Qc9c when he flopped top pair and got Warsicka to call his all in with a pocket pair 10 10. Congratulations to Jaime Gold who is the new world champion of poker and is 12 million dollars richer.

This was the first time ever the final table has been broadcast live and you ask was it worth it? I say yes for 25 bucks it was worth it, even though you couldn't see the cards. It was great to just watch them play and watch them bring out all that money when it got down to the final two players. Phil Gordon and the other guy Ali something (cant remember his last name) did a great job announcing and playing roshambo (rock, paper, scissors) for $100 a pop with their guests in the broadcast cast booth. Good show, the best without actually being there live. I do look forward to seeing the edited version though, with the hole cams, so I can see if some of my reads were correct.

The week in review

Tues night poker
Well I started the week off fairly well at Jeffs game on Tuesday night. Started off kinda of slow but turned into a sick ass game with lots of action. Alex was there and so was a few other high rollers so that upped the action a bit. I mean a lot it was real sick people throwing car keys into the pot, that's sick. No one ended up gambling their car away but it was close.

I was doing well, up about $800 then I get pocket 10's and Eddie who has about $1200 in front of him says he's got pocket rockets and re-raises me $120. He had been playing real loose and bluffing a lot and I didn't believe him, so I give it the all information bet, all in I say, whoops. He calls and he wasn't bluffing he had pocket rockets bye bye $800, ship it I say nice hand and suck it up with respect and walk away. Oh well he gave me $50 walking money which I thought was cool of him I guess it pays to have respect and not act like an idiot when you ship your $800 stack.

So I was sitting around waiting for E cause he was dealing and the table gets down to about 4 players, so Alex asks me to jump in, I say loan me $200 and I will and he did, cool thanks. So I run the $200 up to about $600 and give Alex back his $200 and walk away with a small profit.

Weds night at the coral
Well not much to talk about same ol donkey coral Heh heh. You know what that means lots of action, a few hands stick out here's one, Pops picks up AA in EP raises it to 10 Paul ups it to 60 and E repops it 120 so Pops goes all in for 60 more and Paul folds and of course E calls. Which I think was the correct call I mean he's calling 60 to win 400ish pre-flop. So anyway E has JJ against pops AA all in pre-flop and E bangs a J on the river to take it down and pops was pissed and on tilt the rest of the night. I still dont think pops is over that "horrible suckout" as he calls it....LOL that's poker.

Well on to one of my hands, I'm down on the night about $500ish I got about $180 in front of me and I'm on the rock well Nishant raises it up to about $12 and I call blind, I haven't looked at my cards yet. Flop comes out 393 and Nishant says "well I have to do this I'm all in" I say "man you know I haven't looked and my cards yet lets see what I'm gonna wake up to" and I look at my cards, wow look what that is under there a 3 and a 6 what a monster I call and flip em up, Nishant has JJ and doubles me up. Oopsie.

Well I ended up getting back up to even on the night and I really have to stop going stuck large amounts just to win cause one day I'm not gonna come back and that will just suck. But this week it seems that's the only way I could win, enough of that.

Friday night pink chip game at E's
I've said it before and I'll say it again I hate limit ahhhhhhhhh. Although its fun. I played well early on and was up about a meatball but then went card dead and went on tilt, ended up stuck about $250. Blahhhhhhhhh. It was fun and I'm sure I'll be back even though I've never left E's game on the + side or even for that matter, I really got to break that streak.

Weekend uh oh put your seat belt on
Saturday night I give E a call to see what's clickin and Travis' Pot limit game was a no go. So we decided to go play Rob's game, which I have never played before. So I scoop up E and off to Robs we go. On the way up there I mention something about going to AC and it sounded like a good idea but we kept our plans and headed to Robs.

We get there around 8:30ish and I have to wait a few minutes for a seat I hop in the game while E is still waiting and I go broke in about an hour as usual WTF, so I rebuy another $150 in for about $300 now. I pick up KK in LP I got one raise and re-raise in front of me so I push all in. I get 2 callers flop comes rags EP pops out $100 bet which was good cause the other guy folded and he had AK turn comes A and river a rag. I take it down with the K's.

I take a short break and go out for a smoke E, Ryan, and some other folks are outside and I tell them about the hand and E says cool well lets go to AC now, hmmmmm. I go back in and play a few more hands contemplating on weather or not to go and I just didn't want to hit and run my first time at Robs. Rob asks me if I wanted to cash out and roll and another guy says shit man you'll be there by 1:00am I say screw it cash out up $120 and its off to A.C.

Trop here we come
And we are off to the Tropicana which is now my second home. I drive up and it seemed like it took forever cause we were so anxious to get there but we got there about 1:30am and I took a seat with $200 checkers. It was a slow start and I told myself I was playing solid no matter what, no re buys solid poker only. So I'm chillin checking out the table not playing many hands, I have a donkey to my right playing garbage and going all in talking about how broke he is and he needs to get back but he keeps rebuying, cool cha-ching I think to myself. And I have a real solid player to my left with about $600 in front of him, I'll stay out of his way and everyone else is mediocre probably couldn't be at a better table.

OK a little while later I have about $180ish in front of me and the donkey to my right goes all in for about $100 in or so in EP hmmm I'm in MP and look down and wake up to JJ cool I think a bit cause I hate Jacks and its either push all in over top or fold. So I push all in everyone folds to LP he asks me what I have and I say paint and he calls. He asks if I have a pair after he calls cause he does he says a little pair, I say good cause I got a big pair. The kid on my right has 10 7 off LOL woopsie. I bang a J on the flop and the other guy who has 10 10 is drawing dead after the turn brings a Q and I take down a nice $400+ pot. That table breaks so I move on to another table with 2 other players.

This table is little sticky so I stick to my guns and keep playing solid. I pick up a nice hand to a $20 raise pre-flop I'm in MP and I call flop comes out 10 8 6 rainbow it gets checked around 4-5 players I think. Turn brings a Kd 2 diamonds on the board now checked around to LP who throws out a $50 bet but really thought he was trying to take it down right there and he didn't want any callers and I have about 17 outs so I take a gamble and call. Well before the river comes out the kid who bet is playing with $60 in chips in front of his cards and the dealer says that's a bet I warned you before stick your chips out there, wow what a break for me. I go along with it the kid and his buddy get all shitty with the dealer and I say call the floor over and they shut up. So the river comes 7 which was one of my outs I got the nuts and its $60 to me, I think for a minute and say all in, I really wanted the kid to think I was putting a move on him and call but he shows a 7 says I don't think you have shit and folds, I muck my cards and take down a nice pot. Up about $775 and make a loose call with 45d pre flop catch 2 draws on the flop and invest about $250 total into the pot and loose to the A-hole who slo rolls me with A9d nut flush, he says what you got I say flush he says nut flush and turns up his cards, I say nice hand (thinking f-u A-hole) and don't play another hand till the table breaks.

Table breaks I see E who is getting brutally murdered and he says come sit at my table OK I say and take a seat. I sit down with about $500ish and take a gamble with KQ clubs I raise pre-flop I get 2 callers and I'm in LP flop comes 10c 2d 8c first to act bets his standard $50 bet other repops it to $100 I'm thinking as I usually do, first guy probably has top pair, second guy maybe an over pair possibly a set. So I decide to gamble and push all in, I have them both covered but not by much. First guy folds, second guy calls, I get no help and he shows pocket 2's for a set, shitsky he takes half my stack. Oh well nice hand.

I'm back about even, but I'm having fun this table is live everybody is laughing and joking around having a good time. I'm hovering around even and the table slows down a bit, 2 guys leave and some new players sit down. It's about 10:30am and this guy comes from a broken table and sits down with about 4 racks of checkers 3 racks of red = $1500 one rack with 4 rows of red and one row of green = $900 total of $2400 wowie and he was on fire boy. A couple people complained but those are the rules if you come from a broken table of the same limits you can sit with what you left the other table with.

So everyone tightens up playing premium hands and this guy is playing every hand and taking pots down, I mean don't get me wrong he was getting good cards. But he was hitting with the rags too it was sick. Well I'm sitting there like shit I'm leaving screw this, but then said to myself lets play this guy a little different, so I started playing trash hands 107, J2, K4, stuff like that and most of the time it was just me and him in the pot and I was taking him down, he was beating everyone at the table but me and after a few hands he realized this. He was a nice guy, Tommy a local guy from our area VA. I think, so I asked him "your calling everyone else's all ins and giving them action why not me?" He says I can't beat you, what I say "come on man". He gives me a little more action but not much and I get up around $300.

Then ol' Blue comes and sits down at our table, oh what fun. Blue used to play with us at the Donkey Coral on Wednesdays but no longer joins in all the donkey fun. So the fun starts, I immediately start heckling him trying to put him on tilt because he loves to talk trash but this time I started it and it worked I get in a few hands with him, first one he raises I call flop comes out 8 10 Q I check he bets, I call, turn 7 he says "what do you have left over there", I say "this much" and stick my stack out there, all in to him. Oooh he wasn't expecting that but it was the perfect move cause he thought for a minute trying to figure out what I had and folded, and I take down a nice pot. Now he's irritated and tilted a bit we go back and forth talking trash and I say "Blue you gonna let me break you like I did at Travis's game" hehe that pissed him off real good he started going off I'll play you heads up any day, "you wanna play me heads up" I say "sure" He says "floor" I say "just not today" LOL I have to roll out in a few. Last hand he raises big I call flop comes 10d 2c 9d I fire out $25 he's like what I got AA I say then you are good call me, he says "yeah whatever" and thinks a little while and folds I say "what, Blue you scared to play me now".......He goes on a rant blah blah blah LOL it was great.

So I get up around 1:00pm up about $145 after about 10 hrs of play 12 hrs but I took quite a few extended breaks in between play. We roll out and E muscled the 5 hour drive home cause the traffic was horrible, thanks dog. I get home around 5:30ish and get some well needed rest. Well until next time.

Jay I hope my punctuation and grammar is up to par for you if not F YOU! Hookd on foniks werkd 4 me..... LOL

Ugggh I need a break

Well I played E's friday night and i dont know what the hell was wrong with me, I wasn't in a very good mood bfore going and actually contemplated going but decided to go cause I already had my seat locked. I really should of stayed home because I took a serious hit and that really just put me in a worse mood. I really think i need to take some time off maybe a week or so. I'll probably play some this week though see how I do and take next week off.

So at E's I sit down with a meat ball cause I usually can run it up with no problem. Not this time I busted that in less than 20 mins rebought for 200 and immidiately hit a set against pops and push all in to his pot sized bet which was around 50 with a flush draw showing I had 444 board was 9K4 2 spades. I thought about what he might have and a set of nines did cross my mind but what are the odds, so I put him on AK or a strong K and push all in Woooops he shows his 9's and I'm sick I should of stayed home.

So I buy back in for another 150 after a short break and go up and down through the night till Scooter puts me on tilt and ship the rest of my shortstack to him when he catches 4 eights to my A6 suited. He owes Nelly a dollar for that hand too by the way (10 8). Good lord I was having such a bad night and my head was just not in the game, well hopefully a few days rest will do me some good.

Well I was supposed to leave for AC this morning with E but got a text message at the last minute telling me he had to back out, Blahhhhh. I was really looking forward to going too not just to play poker but just to get away for a few days. Wanted to just go up there and relax, I was planning on just playing a bunch of Tourneys, tourneys relax me its my best game and I can just sit and chill not worry about much, where as cash games are a little hectic and you have a lot more on the line. (well depending on the circumstances I guess). I dunno maybe 'll get up there later on this week.

Poker withdrawals, lets have some fun

I just wanted to let everyone know that Keenan, our good buddy is dising all his poker buddies and one of the most popular games on the circuit at E's because his girlfriend is here, what! I mean next thing you know its gonna be sorry guys my girl wont let play tonight I got to hang out with her, and then the Kiki as we know him will be gone, just a figment of our imagination, a conversation piece at the poker table "hey you guys remember Kiki? Who? Kiki" and then like one or two people will say "oh yea Keenan didn't he get married or something, no his girlfriend moved in.....ohh that's what happened to him" LOL

Just kidding homey do you thing and have fun, just wanted to stir up some shit before you leave. Hope everything goes good in NY. But you still owe me a trip to A.C. dogging us like that, jeesh.

Da Wedensday game

Well its back at the Donkey Coral and I love this game weather I win or loose its just fun. But on a serious note I just want to apoligize to Nelly because I said some things in a post and I really made her mad. But I guess she doesn't really know me to well yet, So Nelly I am sorry for being a dick. But honestly when I get mad and run my mouth you just got to take that shit with a grain of salt and then verbally abuse me the next time you see me, then I laugh at it cause I enjoy getting berated by angry women. And honestly I didn't mean anything personally. And I am not one to stay pissy for long actually after I get some sleep I'm better.... LOL.

So anyway I basically freerolled tonite so I was just having fun playing like a donkey but that took its toll on me cause there were a few real hands where I should of dropped the hammer but couldn't pull the trigger.........and those 2 hands would have probably put me in the plus tonight instead of the negative.

The game broke about 2ish, we played 6 handed for awhile and then E jumped in the box and we decided to play some 2/4 limit dealers choice which was cool cause these are the games that I have been working on and I did pretty good I've been leraning alot about these games lately and my limit and hi/lo games have improved quite a bit compared to what it was which was in need of help. Overall money wise bad night stuck $300 but still up from Tuesday night so as long as I do well orbreak even at E's game on Sat. it wil be off to AC for a few days. Untill then its martini time.

Please rebuy

Well Jeff had an inaugural game on the circuit last night, a new Tuesday night game....Cool. It was a nice game well organized and great food but the dealers need some help but best of all lots of fish. When we first sat down it was 5 regulars and 3 newbies, after awhile Keenan left cause he had to work wahhh, Adam busted out, Steve busted out, and I can see why, not that they were playing badly because they weren't, but after playing the normal games on the circuit you really have to adjust your play at this game and not many of us were ready for that, I know I wasn't at first. It's just there were two fish at the table that were just cold calling everything and getting very lucky. So after getting tired of my chips going up and down like it was the pink chip game I adjusted my play and buckled down.

So later into the night the only regulars left were E, Launtz and I and Jeff jumped in the game the rest were feesh. I pick up KK raise it up flop comes 965 two hearts I pop out like a $40 bet folds around to Launtz he pushes all in for like 130 more ...Huh I look at him and say dude if you suck out on me I'm gonna be pissed I got KK he looks a lil worried now so I call he shows 89 no hearts I say wow and take it down when he got no help. Wow I busted out Launtz he never looses. Ok now I'm in a hand with this fish who needed a helmet because the deck hit him over the head and never saw a pair he didn't like. Well this kid never folded and always raised so I pick up K10 in MP he raises it up like 20 Ok I call and I think one other caller flop comes JQA hmmm he bets I call turn blank he checks I bet 20 he calls as he has done all night river comes blank he checks again I bet 35 he says ok I'll pay to see the ace he calls and says show me the ace I say umm no ace but I'll show you the straight......doh. Ok one more the other big feeesh at the table, the one who knocked out Steve with runner runner flush which was just sick, is getting real cocky raising, straddling every time he's UTG, blind calling, he thinks he's controlling table I let him think that and then I told him I could take his stack with any 2 cards at anytime (I know I'm a DH but he was pissing me off) he laughs and says go ahead, Ok. So like 2 hands later I raise it up pre-flop I get 3 callers the fish being one of them I flop top pair and pop off like a $25 bet the fish raises it up to 50 everyone else folds I look at him and say all in he calls of course and shows AJ for no pair I wait turn and river don't help him I show top pair and E says "Ship It" as he's laughing his ass off. Well needless to say I had a really good night cashing out about 7x my buy in.

Correction, My bad OK

OK well below you will my find perception of how some things went down in our friendly 1/2 game, I'm not editing anything because I wrote it like that and I'll keep it that way because I am not one to go back on things I say. But it turns out I may have taken a few things out of context or not taken them the way were meant, and I was very tired and was pobably not thinking to clearly.

You will have to read the below post to understand what I am talking about. One person in general Steve, turns out Steve really wasn't being the DH I thought he was he was actually giving me credit for having the balls to make that call preflop. And I just took it the wrong way sorry dude I guess I was the only one being the DH but thats me sometimes I get like that, I think maybe Keenan is rubbing off on me with his lil whiny bitchy ways when things dont go right for him.....LOL.

What a weekend

Well I went to pops game on Saturday and played the big tourney $200+10 and i played the worst I have played in awhile I mean I just was not with it. I don't know what the hell I was doing I mucked 2 pair which was the best hand because I didn't even realize what I had, I made some really bad calls, and I was just not patient at all. I did make into the top 10 out of 20 but was the 10th one out. I mean I just played very bad the worst I have played in awhile. I think it was E's lighter which was in the cup holder in front of me, you know E has had some bad karma, due to an incident which I will not go into here, and his lighter must of vibed onto me or something LOL just kidding E.

So then on to the 1/2 cash game where Nelly was dealing and there was a lot of action and of lot people catching cards like crazy. This one guy Rocco got hit on the head with deck, I mean every hand I think he hit 2 pair or better and then theirs me I couldn't hit anything every thing I got cards which was rare I had somebody with a better hand. One of my last hands before I took a break was this one - I'm in EP I make 20-25 (cant remember exactly) I get two callers, Rocco (Oh no) and Steve, which makes me think a bit flop comes Js 5c 6c (I'm close but not be exact on the cards but I know it was a 5 and 6 of clubs) I check it, first mistake I should of jammed all in but I still probably lost, Rocco bets like 10 Steve raises to 35 I raise it all in for like 70 more Rocco thinks for a minute and folds 2 pair 5s6s and Steve calls of course he has exactly what I thought he had 2 clubs but hes has a straight flush draw also 7c8c. At this point I know I'm beat and I should of folded to the $35 bet but really didn't think he'd call when I pushed all in, but oh that's right it was a straight flush re-draw so that makes it all right I guess it makes it all right to call a twenty-some dollar bet pre-flop with 7c8c too right. (the only reason I am saying this is because later I make nearly the same call and get a bunch of mouth from Steve, I talk about it later in this post) I can see Roccos call because he was catching cards left and right so why not play a lot of hands. So anyway the turn brings the club and I am done I say nice hand and get up to take a break for awhile I'm stuck like $550.

Well after about an hour or so I decide to sit at the other 1/2 table that's going on its a must move table for main 1/2 game going on I sit with $300 and double up in about 30 mins the table is sick with like $32 preflop straddles and lots of action. Keenans dealing and am getting great cards, I hit a straight flush on one hand. Its a loose table so I'm playing a lil looser but doing pretty good, table breaks after awhile and I wait about another 30mins to get back to the main table. I get back to the main table where Nelly is dealing and its like a bad dream all over again I get no cards, I am beginning to think its Nelly because it seems like whenever she deals I get no cards and i am funny about dealers. So anyway i get in on a few hands and win a few pots but eventually go down to about $350 and really wanted to quit but said screw and played a few more hand because I felt confident I get back close to even like I did in AC when I went down like $450, I seem to be good and making sick ass calls to get back to even, some might call these moves Donkish but oh well its my style when I'm down. So its getting late around 4am I'm tired I'm stuck like $550 and pick up my favorite hand 6d8d and I'm on the rock (a mandantory $4 pre-flop straddle in front of the BB) so I'm last to act. Gypsy Pete calls and this girl (a girlfriend of one of the other players) raises all in for about $58 more and I instantly know what she has because I had been playing with her for awhile at the other table, every time she has a high pocket pair she pushed all in I put her on QQ or JJ because she looked a lil worried when I was thinking about calling. So I think about it for awhile and I think about how much money I have previously won with that specific hand (6d8d in case you forgot) I look up and slam my $58 in pot I call and then Gypsy Pete calls. Then the flop comes Jh 4d 7d wow I think to myself and I just feel the flush is coming so I throw out a small bet which gypsy Pete raises and I instantly say I'm all in and he calls and is all-in pot is like $300+ turn comes 2d money card, river comes blank I say I got a flush and Nelly says well show em in her usual bitchy way like I wasn't gonna show my cards or something, I flip over the good ol' 6d8d and you should of seen the look on the girls face as she shows her QQ as well as everyone else's face. Then the stupid ass comments start to come out about my play, the girl with QQ said some BS ok whatever you are pissed because you lost be a real player and just take it, then some others said some things that really shouldn't of been said in my opinion. Pops say something about my call pre-flop and I say well I guess I'm a donkey ------- comment retracted----------- Then Steve, the guy who was mentioned earlier who made pretty much the same play as me when i had KK, says some bullshit to me which really pissed me off and I him told look I was stuck I like those cards the always win for me, he says some more shit at which point I really wanted to just go off on him but I say look man I have been playing good cards all day and just haven't hit nothing so you really should just keep your mouth shut because you weren't even in the hand, then the chicks boyfriend says some dumb shit about playing cards like that no wonder I'm stuck, yea whatever your just pissed cause your girlfriend lost, so anyway here's a big STFU to all those who commented on my play. Well I got up a few hands later and then Steve says oh what are you mad so now you are gonna leave and I just politely say nope I'm tired and I'm back up close to even I'm leaving. I'm so sick of trying to be nice I think I am just going to go back to my old ways of just speaking my mind. Well I left stuck only about $150 not bad compared to $550.

I really hate when people make rude ass comments about your play I really try not say anything about peoples play regardless of how bad it is, especially when I'm not even in the hand and for those that do I really have no respect for you. Well I'm taking a break for a few days until Wednesday when its back to the Donkey Corral for the Wed night game and then maybe off to AC, we'll see.

I hate limit poker

Well I dont think that I hate it really, I just need to learn how to play limit poker a bit better especially hi/lo because I've mainy focused on NL. Well I went to E's for his 3/6 limit 7 card stud and omaha H/L game. I really dont know how to play stud at all and throw in the H/L and I'm just confused and as for my Omaha H/L skills they need some working on to but I have a better grasp on that game. Well I was doing pretty good up about $100 for the night then I'm in a Omaha H/L pot and I flop a straight with a flush draw showing which I had no part of anyway the turn comes no help for the flush it gets bet I raise and then cap trying to chase out the flush but I guess that wasn't happening river comes Q which completly conterfitted my straight because Keenan had AK of spades which is what I thought he had and I only had a Q high straight so I just call the bet on the river and his donkey ass doesnt even realize what he had because he asks me if I have AK, now I don't know if he really didn't know or he was just fucking with me but I'm inclined to believe he realy didn't know.

Well after that hand my game just went down the drain stuck $275 thats the worst I have done in weeks but I guess it can be expected playing a new game and playing a game I know almost nothing about but I'm still a little disappointed in myself and I really got to shake it off and take it in stride which I will because I have a big NL tourney this afternoon and all the donkeys are coming out of the woodwork to play it so I have to play some of the best poker I have ever played if I want to win this mofo and I have been playing really good tourney poker here lately so lets see if I can keep it up.

Weeeeeeeeee

Ok well I figured I'd make a full go at live poker, I've been playing online for sometime now and hitting up the occasional home game here and there. So I decided to get away from playing online because I had been doing well and actually made a decent profit of the last few months, so I snatched all my money offline and hit up the home games. First stop The donkey corral about 3 weeks ago, didn't do well but I expected that, just wanted to get the feel and I did. Next stop back to pops tourney haven't been out there in awhile so I figured I'd hit um up and I did and ended up chopping the tourney with pops not too shabby out of 16 players. So that put me back up from weds night. Running pretty good, lets move on.......

Last Wed. Back to The Corral played a solid 8 hours of live poker and as Travis and Keenan would say I kept getting hit in the head with the deck, so I put my helmet on and cashed out about 5x what I bought in for. Nice, so I guess its time to go to AC and man I have been itching to go so I see E talking about going so I hit um up,.... Lets roll and its off to the Trop. I did pretty good up there for my first time I finished off a crazy weekend ahead so that's all that matters and I can't wait to go back. Played 18 straight hours of poker for me that's an all time high and man what a rush I didn't want to stop but my body was telling me otherwise, so I took a nap for a few hours and back to the tables. I think I got about 6 hours sleep in 3 days but from what I hear that's pretty good for A.C. I loved it.

Well on to last night back to The donkey corral for the poker fun feasting on feeeesh. It was a good game, I played well again made some good reads and took down some nice pots. The game broke a little early but I still cashed out about 3x my buy in. Then got to watch E and Nelly play some Guitar Hero on PS2 that was pretty sick looks like another addicting game. Well so far so good, got E's game coming up which is gonna be sick and Pops sweet ass tourney the day after followed by a nice 1/2 game. Untill next time..........

My new poker blog

Well I figured I'd jump on the bandwagon and start a blog about my poker experiences, I mean I'm prolly the only person left that hasn't started a blog yet. And so since I'm gonna make a run at this poker thing and see how it works out, I figured I might as well post it all here so I don't bore you all with my crazy stories everytime I see you. Well here goes nothing.
