AC and a win, woo hoo!

Wow! Well this post is from a few months back, end of November to be exact. I just remembered I forgot to post it oops! Today is Tues. April 15th if that has any relevance eww hope ya'll did your taxes.

Well its been awhile since I updated this damn thing, mainly because I haven't been playing to much over the past 6 months or so, but I'm back to playing and playing half way decent. So Tuesday after the Monday night 1/2nl game broke Travis, Katie, Andy and I decided to head up to A.C. for a short overnight trip. We picked up a rental car at BWI and we were on our way. Most of you probably read these details already in Trav's blog so you can read it if you haven't already to get some more details.

Travis got the lucky job of being the pilot and I was the navigator, he's a pretty good driver at high speeds that is. Anything under 20mph and you should worry about him being behind the wheel. We get to the infamous wawa on Blackhorse Pike in Jersey and theres some traffic and its raining so its pretty nasty. Pull in to go to wawa and Trav misses the entrance to wawa oh well just turn around, wait not right here theres a..................curb........never mind, glad its a rental. Ok well park over there wow nice parking job needless to say Andy took over for the rest of the trip. LOL

Well we get to AC drop Andy off at the Taj and were going to play there but it was dead, real dead, like 3 tables going dead. So Andy stays so he can play in 300 Stud h/l event and Trav, Katie and I head off to the Gata. Trav drops us off at the poker room and parks the car, gee this Trav guy is like a chauffeur, nice! Katie and I head in and hook up with Trav a few minutes later. Katie takes a seat seat at the 1/2nl table and Trav and I sign up for 2/5nl. We get out seats a few minutes later at the same table uggh. We dont have a full table so its just about 4 of us there and we dont want to play short, 30 seconds later I hear a funny thing come over the loud speaker "5/10 nl seat open TTW" wait those are Trav's initials, wait where did he go, this donkeys going to play 5/10 wow are you serious? Yes he is, ok well a seat opened up at the 2/5 table that was already running and I had first dibs so I hopped up and took it. So the fun begins.

I take the two seat with three stacks of red chips and immediately ask for a seat change. A few hands later the four seat opens and I hop in it. Not too much happens see a few hands win a few lose a few nothing big. Then i pick up a nice hand on the button and make 25 to go with a about 8 limpers i hope to thin the field down by a few. Then the older gent in the BB sticks a stack out there and says raise.....huh! Not this guy again I'm thinking to myself, I've folded some pretty decent hands to this guy early on cause he did this crap a few times earlier. This guy is starting to lurk of BS about 20 red chips full of BS. Folds back around to me 75 more sure what the hell I call, this guy looks at me a lil uneasy, good guess he doesn't have Aces. Flop comes Qd6c7d He fires out another meatball, i have him covered by a few stacks so i just call. Wow this guy is really not happy now guess he's got a Queen, turn rolls off the pretty 5d he looks at me all flustered and sticks another meatball out there I call, I thought he was all in but he had about 10 red chips left behind. River comes off a meaningless 9c board reads Qd6c7d5d9c, guy looks all flustered and starts waving his arms around and huffin and puffin then says "I CHECK" in a I forgot to take my meds this morning voice. I say I'll put you all in he huffs and puffs and groans and rambles some expletives and calls. I table my 8d6d and this guy has a frickin conniption fit. Starts yelling at me "how the hell do you call a $100 bet with 8d6d preflop" blahblahblah I say it wasn't $100 it was only $75 to me he rambles some more yells at me some more and mucks his hand and wonders off talking to himself while scoop in my 700ish pot.

I also chopped the Borgata midnight tourney, which no longer exists, I made a few people walk away talking to themselves during this event also. I chopped it 8 ways I think and we played for a remaining $1K then we got down to 4 and decided to chop the 1K 4 ways, was still a decent lil hit for about 5-6 hours woth of work.

Ate at Bobby Flays, stupid never again will I pay that much for a meal. Yes the food was good but not that good. I honestly could have gone to Maryland's Eastern shore and bought a whole live cow for what I paid for my piece of cow at Bobby Flays. Really I don't hate money that much but I guess you live and learn, thanks Trav real good idea!

My blogs a little dusty I see

Well I guess its time I get out the swifter duster and put a new post up on here before my blog gets all dry rotted and fossilized. Its been a rough couple of months for me with not much time for poker let alone a trip to A.C. . I can say that I have only played live 2 times in the past 3 months, had a nice hit at Pops game a few weeks back though. Cashed out a lil under a G in the 1/2 NL game. Thats about it though as far as poker goes for me in the recent months, but thats all about to change.

For those of you that know me you know that I had the opportunity to be a single Dad for the summer which is why I have not had much time for poker. Let me tell you it is the single hardest thing I have ever done! WOW its hard keeping up with a lil munchkin. My daughter Emma, who is 5 kept me on my toes that is for sure. Of course she and I got in quite a few HU matches of NLHE over the past few months but I just couldn't compete with the luck of the toddler LOL. But seriously between running a business, getting the lil one to daycare, cooking, and doing all the other household chores, and taking Emma on our little excursions to the park and the movies and such, I had no time to do anything else at all. It was quite stressful but did open my eyes to a lot things that is for sure. Made me appreciate a lot of the smaller things in life and realize how quickly your kids grow up. So for those of you that have kids spend as much time as you can with them because one day they will be all grown up and you will wish you did more. Plus its fun to pretend to be 5 again LOL!

Well among other things I wanna get in some poker in this coming month and there are some good tournaments coming up in A.C. in September. I plan on hitting up a few and taking a few trips to A.C. as well. First one I'm aiming for is the USPC I plan on doing the $300 event on the 21st and the $500 on the 22nd both are NLHE and possibly one more event if I do well in one of these. Then there is the NJ State Poker Championship on the 8th and 9th of Sept. not a very publicized event but seems like a decent tourney. The Hilton hosts it and its a $300+30 entry but they are running MTT satellites everyday for like $33, so I might try to slide in on one those if possible. If not I'm probably just going to head on up and give it a shot, its a two day event so hopefully I can make it through day 1. Then there is the Borgata Poker Open, which I would like to play in one of the $500 events but the dates kinda conflict with some things I already have scheduled, so we will play that one by ear.

Well I have a nice month planned for Sept. lets hope it goes well if all else fails I hope to at least cover my buy ins playing cash games up there. I will definitely keep those who read my blog updated if there are any of you left.

Ahh yes and don't forget the the 1/2 PLHE game at the Trop on the 22nd of Sept. I will definitely be playing that. Hopefully we will have a full table of MDP'ers for some supreme Donkeyness . Until then stay tuned I may just have to post some non-poker related content to keep myself occupied.

What a week

Well I'm a bit grumpy today, prolly because I've had a really crappy week. The kids got sick earlier in the week, seems theres some nasty stomach virus going around, and of course Tuesday I get it. Had me laid up for a couple days, uggh i really hate being sick. I cant sit still as it is, let alone being sick and having no choice. Then I had a little problem with the power company, I'd like to elaborate but my lawyers say I cant. (haha kidding). And I haven't had any time to play poker, which will really make one grumpy. Poker Withdrawals I believe they call it, I'll have to get Travis to one of his little dictionary meaning inserts to elaborate on the true meaning, LOL.

So today I have just been sitting around taking easy, taking care of a few odds and ends, playing with the blog a lil bit. I've added a few new cool add ons to the blog check them out if you get a chance. Mainly just added the Google Reader, its a pretty nifty little tool if you spend a lot of time on line like I do. I picked it up from Travis's blog the other day, seems Google is moving in leaps and bounds across the Internet these days with everything from free web based e-mail to readers to keep track of your favorite blogs and rss feeds. Guess I should of bought some stock in them back when they went public not too long ago. Doh!

Trying to figure out if I want to go play poker tonight, I woke up this morning around 7am really itching to play. I almost hopped in the truck and hit the road for A.C. but then talked my self out of it because it was such a nasty day. Which actually would have been all the more reason to go but its such a long ride and its rainy and......wah wah wah. Thats just the mood I've been in today. Travis hit me up on AIM a little bit ago wanted to see if i wanted to come play some PL Hold'em at the Donkey Coral tonight. Told him I might, I just had to finish up a few things. I dunno I still might swing through I just have to get some motivation behind me, jeesh I hate rainy Saturdays.

Well I am trying to keep this blog updated here on a regular now its just so hard typing with one hand, I'm getting pretty good at it though. LOL So keep an eye out or add it to your Blogarithm list so you can get an e-mail when I update this ridiculous thing.

Say What!

Well back on the scene I am, and it has been a good month so far. I've been meaning to put up a new post on here since my 4 month hiatus but have just been putting it off, that is untill tonight.

Well headed on over to E and Keenans new spot for their new Mon. night 1/2 NL game and started off the night quite well. It was quite a fun game as it was last week thats why I came back out, that is untill this hand went down.

Travis and I find ourselves heads up in quite a hand, I know I had around $450 - $500 in front of me to start the hand so when Travis min raised my $150 bet on the river there was a good $800-$850+ in the pot. I call his raise and he shows his set 'o jacks as he is required to do by the rules of this lovely game we call poker. Then, did I hear what I think I just heard, ummm yes I did, from the other end of the table, from someone who wasnt even in the hand. This guy who I will leave unnamed says "I wanna see his cards" refering to me. SAY WHAT????????? Travis tells him that is usually done to prevent cheating and repeats himself, as well as a few other players let it be known that is wasn't cool. No reply from said unnamed person, so I said "you really want to see my fucking cards", he says "thats what I said". Well I take that as being accused of cheating and it is a downright "dickhead move" (quote pdoggie) LOL. And let me tell you, all I can say is if we were at a casino I would probably be banned from that casino for life. Since I respect E, Keenan, 90% of the players and the dealer at the table I restrained myself from flipping the fucking table over, throwing my cards out the fucking window and then replying if you wanna see my fucking cards go down there and pick them the fuck up.

Come to think of it that would of been pretty funny if I just reached over pulled up the blinds and chucked my cards out the window. But I was too heated to think of that shit at the time. So anyway, I flipped my fucking cards over as threw them across the fucking table and walked out the door to have a smoke. Pdogg put his two cents in and got into a small but heated debate with said unnamed person. Which I apprieciate and I would do the same for him or anyone else that I consider a friend. A few people including the house let it be known that it wasnt cool, but he just had to keep on with it, I guess he is cooler then everyone else. Ohhh man you are too cool for me. Its all good though thats very bad kharma sir and the poker gods will hopefully be shining down upon me the next time we play each other because believe me I will be looking to snap you the fuck off.

But in the end I did something tonight that I have never done before. I kept my mouth shut and instead of rebuying and going on tilt trying to stack this guy. I got up cashed out my $50 I had left in front of me and took the $170 loss. I'm sure you all know how bad I wanted to rebuy just to stack this guy but all I would of done was go on massive tilt, and I realized that and went with my gut feeling. So be it what comes around goes around.

P.S. Nice hand Trav I dont mind shipping it to you every now and then because I know you'll give it back eventually. ;) What the hell are you doing with a made hand anyway!
